Mark Twain and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Samuel Clemens was known by his Pen name “Mark Twain”, was born in Florida in 1835. When he was just 11 years old his father passed away, he left his studies and began to work as a printer to make both ends meet. In 1857, he moved to South America to make his fortune.

Mark Twain then went to west America during the Civil War and established him as a stunning writer. He wrote several humorous stories about His Life experiences and the circumstances under which he moved from his home town, which lead him to newspaper reporter in 1862.

In 1866, he moved to Hawaii. This trip or journey proved to be the opening of his career as a travelling corresponded. The following year he went to Europe and wrote a successful book titled as The Innocent Abroad.

Then in 1876, Mark Twain published “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”.   It was such a success that he decided thereby to write a sequel.  The sequel, which was much more difficult than the original was published seven years later in 1883 and was titled as “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”.  After this success Twain wrote dozen of books but none of them gained that much fame, respect, attention by the world wide audience. Death of his daughter JEAN bought him in sorrow. His heart was seriously effected by the news of his daughter`s death and on April 21, 1910 he also died.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

An adventure of Huckleberry Finn consists of 43 chapters. Nice thing about this book is that it is told in the first person in which Huck Finn is telling the story. The Complete Book is divided into three sections .The first section is about the living of Huck living, Miss Watson and his sister civilization. Second section is totally about his travelling with Jim and the last section Huck returns to civilization and lives with Tom in Uncle Silas’ farm.

The introduction of first section starts with Huck and his living life with Miss Watson and later with his father .The section ends were Huck authentic or genuine his death and flees to Jackson Island.

In the second section Huck meet s Jim at Island .when they come to know that Jim is being searched they both run down to river, Jim was running from slavery whereas Huck was running from civilization. The section ends when they both make to uncle Silas` farm.

The third section is totally based upon the farm.

Even the book is divided into three sections but it does not divide to neatly in to sub section like rising action, climax and conclusion. The basic point of Huck is to exposes slavery and show blacks to have feelings just like others. The river and surroundings add to the adventure and climax to the story. Twain`s style was so simple and he presented his feeling in childish mood, who gives out his observation on society through eyes and speech. Thus this book receives high applause from worldwide audience.
