Are Sam Moore chair's collectable?
My husband and are novices to collecting mid-century modern furniture. We've just come across a beautiful Sam Moore chair. We've learned that Sam Moore is a somewhat desirable designer... we just don't know how much his stuff is worth. Specifically, this chair says "Sam Moore for Lazy-Boy". I'm not sure when this chair was produced or what year Lazy-Boy bought Sam Moore. Wondering if buying this chair for a few hundred dollars is a wise choice or if the Lazy-Boy era chairs are worthless.
what i would do is try and find out if there is a market for it any where online and see the price that people are willing to pay for it, a collectible is only such if it is desired. if you love this chair you should get it, never buy something unless You Like it whether it is worth something to you. check out the online auctions or ebay for chairs or other furniture by sam moore or just wiki his name and see what you find, you may find links that will let you know exactly what you need to know
